Luca identified a dream team to realise Bassani Health’s vision of becoming a leading force in supplying medical cannabis to global pharmaceutical manufacturers.
Michael Stringer
Chief Executive Officer
Michael has an MBA from the University of Cumbria (Wales, UK), has completed an Executive Leadership Programme (University of Cape Town) and Harvard Business School’s Leadership Development programme.
Michael is an innovative and accomplished pharmaceutical executive and is renowned for uncovering opportunities that inspire aggressive growth.
Benny Padachie
Chief Financial Officer
Benny has over 25years’ experience in Investment banking, Unsecured Lending, Rental Financing, Treasury, Risk, & Capital Management.
His previous position consist of ACMB, Nedbank Capital, CFO China Construction Bank; Group CFO and executive director Real People Investment Holdings Limited: CFO Rentworks Africa (Pty) Ltd , Acting CFO Landbank and Independent consultant JSE.
Adv. Simi Pillay-van Graan
Executive: Legal, Strategy & Governance
Simi brings over 25 years of executive leadership across legal, strategy, enterprise risk, and governance transformation in the public, private, and civil society sectors.
She currently oversees legal risk, regulatory compliance, strategic design, and governance integration across multiple portfolios, embedding PFMA, King IV/V, and ESG principles into board strategy and operational culture.
Mark Packman
Business / Sales Development
Mark Packman is a seasoned commercial strategist and sales leader with 20 years’ experience across South Africa’s property, technology, and healthcare sectors.
Mark’s leadership philosophy is grounded in compliance, digital integration, and empowerment through enterprise development. His work continues to connect innovation, regulation, and inclusive growth -building ecosystems that merge research, retail, and socio-economic upliftment within one coherent commercial model.
Willem Els
Head of Final Cultivation & Processing
Will was co-founder and co-owner responsible for establishing a cannabis farm and cannabis genetics brand, with 15 years of dedicated cultivation experience.
In his previous roles, he served as the Head of Operations, Quality Control Manager and QMS Officer for licensed exporting cannabis facilities. This has given him experience in cannabis cultivation compliance implementation and cannabis crop planner (seed to sale).
